BAYELSA CONSTITUTES VOLUNTEERS TO BOOST SECURITY, OVER 500 YOUTHS TO BE ENGAGED

Arising from a meeting earlier in the week, the Bayelsa State Security Council has approved the setting up of the Bayelsa Volunteer, which was established by law.


To this end, His Excellency, Hon. Seriake Dickson, Governor of Bayelsa State has approved the appointment of CSP Idowu Asufi to serve as its Coordinator, while Hon. Enekiyou Boni Ayah will be the Secretary.


His Excellency approved the appointment of a retired senior police officer to take charge of discipline and control in order to be part of the security architecture of the state.


Accordingly, approval has been given for 500 youths and another 50 graduates, who must be between the ages of 18 and 35 for the initial recruitment.


Furthermore, the leadership structure at the State and Local Government levels will be announced later for inauguration.
