COURTESY VISIT TO  HON. SALO ADIKUMO BY THE STATE EXECUTIVES OF GRASSROOT RESTORATION MOVEMENT

 

The State Executives of Grassroot Restoration Movement paid a courtesy visit to the Hon. Commissioner Ministry of Education Bayelsa State, Hon.Salo Adikumo on the 7th of Novemeber,2013 as  part of its visit to some key government functionaries.

In his remark, the President of the organisation Chief Thompson Amule commended our Contriman Governor Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson on the monumental achievements recorded so far in virtually all the critical sectors of the State, especially in the area of Education and Road Construction; he also specifically thanked the Hon. Commissioner for his relentless effort in ensuring that the good policies and programs of the RESTORATION administration in the Education sector is implemented to the letter. He further stated that as a non-governmental organisation, but a social political organisation we shall continue to give our unflinching support to the Restoration administration at all times.

 

In his speech, the Secretary of the organisation Mr. Honest Onyerin informed the Commissioner of the groups upcoming Local Government, Constituency and Ward Executives inauguration which will take place in a couple of weeks’ time, and also the reason behind the formation of the group.

Mr Honest Onyerin stated that the group’s key mandate is to showcase and inform Bayelsans and Nigerians within and outside the State about the massive infrastructural and human capital development of the Restoration administration ably led by our Contriman Governor, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson through the print, electronic and social media; he also used the occasion to inform the Hon. Commissioner about the organisation’s spread; disclosing how the organisation is structured having its membership cutting across all the various wards in the State.

Responding, the Hon. Commissioner while expressing is happiness with the group used the occasion to inform the group that over 250 post-primary scholarships have so far been awarded to indigenes of the State who are currently  in some choice schools in the country; and also for the Masters and Ph.D. category a good number are currently studying overseas.

He further stated that over 400 primary schools have so far been renovated, and Headmasters quarters have also been built across the rural communities, and that very soon all schools in the State capital will also be given a facelift.

In the same vein the Hon. Commissioner stated that over 35 Constituency schools of international standard with boarding facilities have been embarked upon by the Restoration Administration, and when completed the free education policy of the Restoration Administration which is already on will be enhanced as students will be kept in boarding schools and catered for freely.

The Hon. Commissioner stated that teachers will also be trained and retrained to meet international standard.

Members of the State Executives who were part of the delegation include the Woman Leader, MS Diye Mbasi, Director of Finance ,Mr Luis Stanley Udisi, Director of Mobilisation, Mr Sogo Peres Clinton, Organising Secretary, Mr Ateigbanyo Alabo, Director of Welfare, Mr.Effort Ogbe and Legal Adviser,

Barr. Belac Prince Edovie.
