Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah (rtd) has again commended security agencies for their steadfastness in sustaining the prevailing peace in the state.
Speaking during a courtesy call by the Chief of Training and Operations, Defence Headquarters, Abuja, Major–Gen. P.G. Isang, in his office in Government House, Yenagoa, Rear Admiral Jonah (rtd) said the relative peace being enjoyed in the state is as a result of the synergy between the various security agencies and the state government.
The deputy governor noted that the state government is always ready to collaborate with security agencies in order to maintain the existing peace, stressing that presently, the state government is embarking on the construction of some security posts in Southern Ijaw and Nembe Local Government Areas of the state.
According to him, prior to the inauguration of the present government security was a major challenge in the state, hence the declaration of a zero tolerance to crime in the state since the inception of the present administration.
He further said that even the major challenge of oil theft and pipeline vandilisation will soon be a thing of the past as the state government is ready to collaborate with the security agencies in that respect.
Earlier, the Chief of Training and Operations, Defence Headquarters, Abuja Maj-Gen P. G. Isang said he was in the state as part of his last-quarter visit to the Niger Delta to make projections for next year.
