GOV DICKSON VISITS OKRIKA, REAFFIRMS BAYELSA’S FULL PARTICIPATION IN LATE CHARITY OBA’S FUNERAL

Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson, Today visited Ambemebiri, Okrika, hometown of Late Mrs. Charity Francis Oba, mother of Dame (Dr.) Patience Jonathan, First Lady, Federal Republic of Nigeria, in Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State.

During the visit, the Bayelsa State Chief Executive met and had consultations with the Wife of the President as well as assess the level of preparedness for the Funeral, slated for Thursday and Friday, this week.

As a critical stakeholder and in demonstration of the In-law status of Bayelsa State, Hon. Dickson expressed satisfaction with the preparations and re-assured the bereaved family of the resolve of the Government and people of the State to support them all the way in ensuring the success of the entire funeral programme.

According to him, he will lead a high powered delegation of present and past Governors and Deputy Governors, past and present members of the National Assembly from all the Ijaw speaking areas of the Country, Speakers and members of State Houses of Assembly, Members of State Executive Councils, Chairmen of Local Government Councils, Top Government functionaries, First Class Traditional rulers and opinion leaders to participate fully in funeral activities of LateMrs. Charity Oba (aka Mama Sisi).
