 16 August 2013

The Executive Chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government in Bayelsa state, Chief Remember P.N. Ogbe has lauded contractors handling the Council’s ongoing projects. Chief Ogbe gave the commendation when he paid an unscheduled visit to the project sites of the Ultra-Modern Market, and Police Post at Amassoma where work has reached an advanced stage. He however urged contractors to adhere to the timeframe as spelt out in their terms of reference in order to ensure timely handover.

Earlier, the Southern Ijaw Local Government helmsman had embarked on a similar visit to the council’s secretariat at Oporoma where renovationwork is ongoing.

In another development, Chief Ogbe frowned at encroachment of land developers into the council’s premises. The statement urged all affectedproperty owners to contact the Supervisor for Works without delay.
