BAYELSA STUDENTS GET NEW BUS, AS GOV DICKSON PLEDGES GREATER INVESTMENT IN EDUCATION SECTOR
In fulfillment of an earlier promise to the Nigeria Union of the Bayelsa State Students Worldwide, (NUBSS), Governor Seriake Dickson has presented an 18-seater bus to the union to enhance its activities.
Represented by the Commissioner of Education, Chief Salo Adikumo at the Presentation ceremony in Government House, Yenagoa, the Governor noted that the vehicle would go a long way in boosting their security and welfare.
Governor Dickson called on the students to reciprocate the gesture and justify the huge investment made in their education by taking their studies seriously.
He also urged them to be good ambassadors of the state and respect constituted authority at all times, stressing that government would continue to strive to improve the educational sub sector.
Responding, President of the Nigeria Union of Bayelsa State Students Union Worldwide, Comrade Agbada S. Agbada, expressed delight at government’s magnanimity, describing the event as one of his happiest moments as leader of the union.
Comrade Agbada, who observed that the gesture would add more prestige to the union, noting that NUBSS would continue to explore ways towards ensuring that their bursary allowances were paid.
